Chapter Technology Transfer Committee

We’re looking forward to kicking off an exciting new year at ASHRAE. The ASHRAE Long Island chapter is assembling a series of intriguing speakers and presentations for the 2022-2023 period. We hope to see you at all the chapter meetings. This month’s CTTC section of the Long Island Sounder highlights an article from the August 2022 ASHRAE Journal titled, “Saving Money with Real-Time VAV Control Optimization.” Authored by Andrew Martin, this article examines an opportunity for energy savings through clever optimization of VAV systems. Given the goal of NYC Local Law 97 to achieve 40 percent reduction in aggregate greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 relative to emissions from 2005, every opportunity to reduce energy usage must be explored.
